SUPER URGENT....CODE RED! THIS BABY WILL DIE TODAY UNLESS WE SAVE HIM. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP. KATHY. ~~~~~~~~ TO BE DESTROYED - 11/29/14 Manhattan Center -P My name is ADELPHI. My Animal ID # is A1021341. I am a male gray and white pit bull mix. The shelter thinks I am about 2 YEARS **$150 DONATION to the NEW HOPE rescue that pulls!** I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 11/21/2014 from NY 10032, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY. MOST RECENT MEDICAL INFORMATION AND WEIGHT 11/23/2014 Exam Type OBSERVATION - Medical Rating is 2 NC - MINOR CONDITIONS NOT CONTAGIOUS, Behavior Rating is NONE, Weight 61.2 LBS. Put a three x feeding as per Dr.1027 PET PROFILE MEMO No Pet Profile Memo 11/26/2014 WEB MEMO A volunteer writes: Besides being very handsome, Adelphi knows a bunch of commands. This is one smart boy! He sits when asked to, gives paw and then goes into a down. Impressive, right! And he showed me that he knows all that in just the short amount of time we spent together, so he may know more. He knows how to go potty outside too, so is likely housetrained. He could use a little training in the leash manners department, and may do better in a harness which I didnt try. We spent most of our time in the backyard getting to know each other, and hes a delight. Good looking with a sweet expression on his face, he give stand up hugs, wags his tail and is so happy to make friends. Hes friendly to other dogs in playgroup, but isnt that interested in interacting at this point. He takes treats hungrily, catches them on the fly when I toss them. Another trick!! His coat is handsome, but his body too thin so were feeding him an extra meal daily to help him gain some weight. He poses for pictures making my job easy, of course, keeping an eye on the treat in my hand. He delights in chasing a tennis ball, bringing it back for another toss, or simply giving it a good chomp. Adelphi is looking for a new family to love for the rest of his life. Could it be you? 11/23/2014 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION - EXPERIENCE Exam Type BEHAVIOR On 11/21/2014, Adelphi came to us as a stray. The Assistant noted he pulls hard to the assessment room. During the assessment Adelphi appeared strong and focused on of stimuli in the assessment room. Although hes very strong Adelphi complied with all tactile elements and lifted his head from the food bowl when pushed away by the assess-a-hand. While approaching the helper dog Adelphi growled, but he bared no teeth. It did not appear to be aggressive in nature; appeared to be frustration. No other behavior issues noted; no aggression noted. Due to Adelphis strength and lack of focus, it is the recommendation of the Behavior Department Adelphi can be adopted by and experienced owner with no young children who can provide stimulation in the form of exercise and brisk walks. In addition, Adelphi may benefit from an obedience program to strengthen focusing skills. He does not place his body between you and the rawhide. Dog-to-dog: 4 Dog charges the helper dog while growling Dog-dog: With other dogs off-leash, Adelphi is interested but not playful, and he seems to become riled easily, growling when he is stared at by another dog. We recommend slow, careful future introductions to dogs utilizing positive reinforcement to address this underlying anxiety. Potential adopters should also be prepared to safely manage this behavior. 11/22/2014 INITIAL PHYSICAL EXAM Medical rating was 2 NC - MINOR CONDITIONS NOT CONTAGIOUS, behavior rating was NONE Scanned negative QARH Mild dental tartar Tense and nervous Skin infection at both pinnae, possible dermatitis vs others Male intact Activyl applied for fleas prevention Nosf 11/23/2014 RE-EXAM (LAST MAJOR EXAM) Medical rating 2 NC - MINOR CONDITIONS NOT CONTAGIOUS, s/0: very mild ear margin dermatitis applied otibiotic to ear margins scrape on nose H+L wnl a: mild otitis p:otibiotic sid x 5d Scanned negative QARH Mild dental tartar Tense and nervous Skin infection at both pinnae, possible dermatitis vs others Male intact Activyl applied for fleas prevention Nosf Video: youtu.be/0n3KeQSaqP8 Additional photos: https://facebook/Urgentdeathrowdogs/photos/a.912057502140463.1073743297.152876678058553/912067828806097/?type=3&theater https://facebook/Urgentdeathrowdogs/photos/a.912057502140463.1073743297.152876678058553/912067832139430/?type=3&theater Original thread: https://facebook/photo.php?fbid=909621505717396 *** TO ADOPT THIS ANIMAL THROUGH THE PUBLIC ADOPTION SITE, PLEASE GO TO THE FOLLOWING LINK AND SCROLL DOWN TO BOTTOM TO LOG IN AND RESERVE THE ANIMAL.
