SURAH LXIX AL-HAQQA (THE REALITY) Revealed at Makka Takes its name from a word which occurs in the first three verses, and implying the Resurrection. In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful. 1. The Reality! 2. What is the Reality? 3. Ah, What would make you realize what the Reality is? (The Day of Judgment or Settlement of Accounts will be a tremendous day. The importance of this day is emphasized.) 4. (The tribes of) Thamoud and Aad disbelieved in the judgment to come. 5. As for Thamoud, they were destroyed by the lightning. 6. And as for Aad, they were destroyed by a fierce roaring wind, 7. Which He imposed on them for seven long nights and eight long days so that you might have seen men lying overthrown, as they were hollow trunks of palm-trees.
