Some strong winds will be of concern along with the precipitation. High pressure is bringing sunnier skies to South Korea and western Japan, and its influence will continue to produce decent conditions through the next few days up to Christmas. Sunny skies continue for east China, and southern China has the threat for frost during the overnight period because of the clear conditions. OCEANIA: A storm complex is hammering the southeastern Australian coast, so Southern Australia into New South Wales and Victoria are seeing plenty of rain and storms, and some areas may see flash flooding because of the heavy precipitation. Conditions will likely last through Tuesday. Another area of instability in the coast of the Northern Territory will lead to some more scattered showers for Tuesday. Meanwhile, New Zealand will have a bit of a break and remain dry going into Tuesday. EUROPE: Northern portions of the continent from the Scandinavian Peninsula into central Europe will have a couple of low pressure systems roll through Monday and Tuesday, keeping the area under cloudy skies with damp conditions. Strong wind gusts are possible in the UK and Ireland and extending into Norway. Meanwhile, a large area of high pressure is dominating the southern portions of Europe, bringing much needed drier conditions into the Balkans and also the Italian Peninsula. NORTH AMERICA: It is going to be a wet day for the eastern half of the United States as a low pressure system rolls through the Great Lakes with an extended cold front into the Deep South. Precipitation totals are expected to range from a half to an inch in a 24 hour period in Chicago down into St. Louis and along the Atlantic coast. There is a threat of severe weather in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and the Tallahassee portions of Florida at the marginal level (Level 1 of 5 - 5 being the highest with the most critical severe weather). Thunderstorms are also possible as far as Kentucky and down into the northern panhandle of Florida. Hope you have a magnificent Monday wherever you are!
