Saddened to hear that my old neighbor Douglas “Ox” Baker has passed away at 80. Ox was a legendary pro wrestler known for a move called “The Heart Punch.” Back in his day, political correctness meant nothing in wrestling (which was part of why it was fun), so when two men legitimately died in the ring with him (from natural causes), promoters sold it like he murdered them, dubbing him “The Killer.” Ox went on to play a memorable character named Slag in John Carpenter’s “Escape from New York.” Here he is making an appearance on “The Price is Right.”
