Saddened to learn of the passing of Bill Putnam this morning. He was a true television pioneer in every sense of the word. He didnt worry or seem to care about ratings. He did what he thought was right and had a great instinct about what viewers wanted. He surrounded himself with talented loyal people: Kitty, Ed Kennedy, Keith SIlver. Together they created a local television power house. If it werent for Bill and people like Tom LaMarche, I wouldnt be where I am today. He took a chance on a radio DJ 35 years ago, and Im still kicking around today! Bill, Kitty, Ed, Keith and many others are gone now. Really its the end of an era. RIP Bill Putnam.
