Sadly, the celibate hierarchy of the Roman Catholic Church, men who have never committed their lives intimately to any woman, men who have chosen not to know women, men who dare to tell women what they can and cannot do in their reproductive lives, are male chauvinists and many of these immature men appear to be misogynists as well. When even in 2014, a Jesuit Pope chooses to discredit women by joking about women coming from the rib of a man, when it is abundantly clear that there would be no man on the earth unless he came from the body of a woman, I do not see much hope for the future of the Roman Catholic Church unless the male leaders grow up and work with women as equals. Jesus treated women as equals, in my understanding. Jesus would never dare to tell women that they could not use birth control. I believe that Jesus would kick many of the hierarchy out of the priesthood and have the police throw them in Jail for their rape or complicity in the rape of children worldwide. Women have been long suffering in this church, and the church will be less and less as more women see the light and move their husbands and children to churches that are more Christian, in my view.
