: Sai Jagriti Shikhsha Abhiyan :. Sai Jagriti, free education programme for under privileged children was started in March, 2011 and is going on at Dr. Vipul Gupta’s old Nursing Home in BG2 flats, Paschim Vihar,Delhi. • It is specially for those children who have never been able to go to school or those who cannot afford coaching.They all have benefitted from this free Shiksha Abhiyan. • More than 100 children have joined this afternoon school from nearby areas of Paschim Vihar. • Many qualified former teachers and more than 20 housewives of Sai Dham Team have volunteered to teach these children from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Friday. • Ratio is 1 teacher for every 6 children. • Children enjoy new teaching methods & activities like art & craft, dance, poetry and music are taught here. Achievements 2011 2012 • Started with 50-60 children at Small Wonders Play school with 10 teachers and 3 classes . • Classes were upto 6th. • Now 100 children & 20 teachers at Dr. Vipul Gupta’s old Nursing Home.. • Classes are now till 8th. • There were dance as activity . • There is poetry, art & craft, dance story telling on regular basis. Even children are writing poems on Baba for our newspaper. • No visual aids. • No competitions were organized. • Distribution of clothes, food items, stationery was done. • Party food was distributed to children sometimes. • Children are themselves making charts and visual aids. • Children took part in Art competition & got certificates. • Regular distribution of stationery, uniform, bags, clothes etc • Birthday celebrations by team members where party food like Domino’s Pizza is given to children regularly • No progress report made. • A progress report of each child has been made. • Books were not given. • Practice books have been distributed.
