Said Prophet SAW He, who can afford to offer a Qurbani, does not - TopicsExpress

Said Prophet SAW He, who can afford to offer a Qurbani, does not do the qurbani need not come to our Eid Gah (Eid Prayer Ground) This Hadith makes it obligatory (Wajib) to offer sacrifice of an animal viz camel, cow, sheep or goat on any day of 10th, 11th,12yth or 13th (upto Asr) of Dhul Hajj. For this purpose there is no such thing as Nasaab (monetary threshold limit) beyond which one should have wealth to make one liable for offering Qurbani. People who hold nasaab as basis for becoming liable to offer qurbani are following ulema only. Qurbani in this respect resembles Hajj and not Zakat. Pertinently, Qurbani is a compulsory ritual in Hajj having nexus to all other rituals performed during the course of Hajj. The philosophy behind offering sacrifice is many fold; on one hand it remindsus of the great sacrifice of his beloved son offered by Hazrat Ibrahim AS in the way and as per the wishes of Allah which was liked and respected by Allah to such a great extent that we muslims were ordained just to copy the event by sacrificing an animal and live through the pleasure and joy of sacrifice offered by Hazrat Ibrahim AS. On the other hand we confirm to Allah that we are the type of people you wished us to be and reaffirm that our salah, our sacrifice, our life and our death are all for Allah. So, we muslims do not do anything of our own but for Allah, except of course, violations of the teachings of Islam for which we should and are ashamed of. While I pray to Allah to guide us to right path, I Congratulate the whole ummah and say Eid Mubarak to you my brothers and sisters. wasalam.
