So...day 54: We awoke this am to a happy baby. We started feedings yesterday with the feeding tube placed in her stomach. All seemed to be going well, and then Grace took a sudden turn for the worse. We are hopeful this is a minor stumbling block in her road back to good health, but she started some re-accumulation of the fluid from her Pancreas post-feeds. It is also believed that while attempting to place the NG feeding tube she developed some bleeding in her GI tract someplace. She has been vomiting again and is currently getting yet another blood transfusion. (Side note: people that give blood are awesome!) I say this because Grace has the rarest blood type and has required several transfusions to date. The plan now is to get her back to a comfortable place on the IV feeds, so that we can go home and allow the Pancreas to heal on its own. Should know more in the next 48. God has been amazing to meet us here and how He has grown us in trust and faith in His will.
