Saigens sweet caregiver wrote this, such an insightful and caring young lady. I think her and Saigen are even the same age. Sis is blessed to have her in her life, and all the other people who take such good care of her. And we are lucky to have her in ours...... I always hope I make a difference in the life of my sweet friend while I work with her. But its quite the opposite, shes making a dramatic difference in mine. She radiates with joy at the smallest things, the things that we all miss on a daily basis- the things we take for granted. She knows no ill thoughts or judgement of others. She smiles just because there isnt a reason not to. She sits on her swing and stares at the sky, with no care or worry in the world, just contentment. We can learn so very much from people who have disabilities. They see the good, they see and express uninhibited joy in life...we completely miss it. They illuminate with simplicity.... we complicate what doesnt need complicated. They abound with authentic gratitude....we are ungrateful even though our lives may be easier and have more opportunities than theirs. We look at someone who has disabilities and pity them or see them as less of a person. But in the eyes of a person with disabilities- we are the disabled ones. There is a light, a hope, a happy contagion inside each one of them that we will never understand....unless we close our eyes....and open them in the perspective of someone who has nothing but remarkably has everything By Jena Boutin
