Saints of God, Our God is a good God. We are going far with this God of Ezekiel Guti. Friday night was an eye opener for me as a believer from the deep teaching of the man of God in the city. Our DP Luvy shared on a message titled Issues of identity. Judges 6:11-16 A lot of people are suffering from identity crisis. A lot of people are living on planet earth and they do not know who they are. The greatest discovery was not the gold of diamond mines of SA, nor is it a cure for HIV, cancer or any dreaded diseases, the greatest discovery is self - discovery. It must be a drive to find out who you are. You will never achieve efficiently your God given assignment until you discover who you are. Life begins to have meaning when you discover who you are. Education has only revealed a fraction of how far your mind can be stretched. You will be surprised at what you can do when you discover who you are. We have allowed people to classify us by our performance at school and church, just because I got an average mark doesn’t mean I am average in everything. A lot of people died not knowing who they are. The richest place is the graveyard. There are books that were buried in the graveyard unwritten and songs that were never sung. Most of the challenges that come in our lives are there to reveal who we are. God showing how far you can go or think. There are people who never thought they could run until a snake just appeared. A test or an exam just wants to show how far you can think. If we lock you up in the church within your mind you will find an alternative exit. Problems are there to trigger something that is within people, most of the great discoveries were triggered by problems. As problems begin to grow and come every day they have made human beings discover things that our predecessors never experienced. The problems that are posing danger to us were not there during their time. Every problem brings about the discovery of something. Problems are catalysts to discoveries. Problems present themselves to be solved; the solution is in our minds. Every time you meet a challenge do not think of dying, when others meet a problem they say it is an opportunity I will find how to solve it. God has already given us the solution. The solution is there someone has to think above the problem. Most of us think about the problem and not above the problem. When problems come it means something is about to be discovered. David cannot be known until a Goliath appears. David was anointed for a problem. Saul and his team did not know that God had already provided the solution. God had already provided Joseph as a solution to the hunger of the whole world. John was preaching and asking people to repent and he was baptizing. People asked him are you the Messiah, “we are suggesting because of what you are doing you must be the messiah”, most of us are doing things we do not want it was just suggested to us by people. You do not enjoy going there it was suggested to you and you do it for the sake of money. Are you the Messiah, the prophet, Elijah or Isaiah he said no I am the voice crying out in the wilderness make the way of the Lord straight. When you know your identity you will be secure. John did not know who Christ was but he says the one who send me told me when I see the spirit descend on him he is the one. So it means the reason John was baptizing was to identify Jesus and announce his arrival. Before Jesus everyone was going to John, John introduces Jesus and two of Johns disciples went with Jesus. People were moving from John to Jesus. The disciples of John said the guy you introduced is gaining momentum and John says I must decrease and he must increase. He knew who he was. Jesus when he appears he does not even thank John and John is not offended by it. Jesus affirms the ministry of John. He says from Abraham all people born of a woman there in no one greater than John yet his ministry was just 3 years (John knew who he was) but the least in the kingdom is greater than John. You are greater than John. I am great. The phrase the angel of the Lord in the Old Testament refers to Christ incarnate before the New Testament, it is Christ appearing. He appears to Gideon who was hiding threshing wheat in a wine press. God says go and deliver Israel and he says are you sure you are talking to me; I was told I am the poorest and my family the smallest. The problem that you are facing now does not need your neighbour it requires you. God will not change it he will change you. It is something else to look at your poverty from the eyes of a poor man and to look at your lack from a rich man’s eyes. God says if you knew who you are you would not be hiding. If you knew who you are you would not be eating what you are eating, driving what you are driving, wearing what you are wearing. Imagine if Jesus never knew who he was and he asks who do people say that I am he would have been confused. Jesus wanted to know what people said about him but he knew who he was. If he never knew that he was the son of God people would have led him astray. Jesus knew his identity. Jesus never used class work to define his whole life just because you got an average mark at school. One little thing to define who you are. One mistake, a baby out of wedlock and you call yourself a failure. One event of life has changed everything about you. You lost your husband when you were young and you define yourself as a widow. Lost parents when you were young and always you call yourself an orphan. Who are you identified as? If someone was to come and say I am giving money to the poor come forward you will see people going forward. They have defined themselves as poor. We have used situation to define who we are. Imagine if Jesus never knew who he was and he was told he was Elijah. Imagine if they said you are Jeremiah and if he lived like Jeremiah who had no record of a single miracle. Be yourself and life will begin to have meaning. Discover who you are, and this you can only do when you go to the manufacturer. You need revelation to know you. Anyone who has never known God does not know themselves. It is when you know God that God can reveal to you who you are. You are teaching but you are not a teacher, it is just a profession. Gideon says I am the least in my family but God says you are a mighty man of valour. We are going to pray for God to solve the problem but God says you are the solution. When God showed him who he was Gideon solved his problem. If we can discover who we are poverty, lack and suffering will seize to be a challenge. Your prayer must be show me who I am oh God. Simon never knew who he was until Matthew 16 when he knew who Jesus was and in turn Jesus revealed to him who he was. Everyone has been calling you Simon that is why you behave like a reed but I say you are Peter you are a rock and strong. From your background you have been told you are like this. I was told I must never go to town to work and every time I went to town I would get sick but when I would go back to the rural are areas I would be fine. I began to plan life in the rural areas. I had a bicycle and thought I had arrived at success. Saints of God You must know who you are and then we will see life having meaning. Our God is a good God. Let us pray for our DPs Luvy and Praise Mlilo servants of God Most high followed by deep revelation, insight, signs and wonders and for the great apostles the patriarchs of our time Ezekiel and Eunor Guti from whose loins we were birthed. Now I say to you that you are Peter (which means ‘rock’), and upon this rock I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it.”
