Sakina holds public darbar at Chawalgam Kulgam Big jolts to PDP, Many joined National Conference SRINAGAR, AUGUST, 03:- Minister for Social Welfare, Ms Sakina Itoo on Saturday convened a grand public darbar at Chawalgam Guest House in Kulgam to listen the grievances of the people of Noorabad Constituency.The people from far flung and remote areas of the Constituency put forth their problems before the Minister and sought improvements and up gradation of safe drinking water, adequate availability of rations, sugars and other essential commodities at fare price shops. A section of people belonging to Helmitary, Dardgund, Nasnoor-Rishi Mohalla, Wattipora, Wattigam, langer Pambai sought replacement of damaged electric poles and transformersin their respective areas. The people of Dardgund, Gujjar Basti, Khuli Batpora, LangerPambai and K B Pora, Pandit Pora, villages demanded immediate repairs of dilapidated roads. They demanded macademization of roads and supply of Rations and other essentials commodities regularly. The Minister on the spot issued directions to the concerned officers to take immediate steps to improve the conditions of these roads. Shedirected PDD engineers for replacing the old and damaged poles and transformers with new ones so that the people may not feel more inconvenience. She also directed PHE Engineers to replace broken water supply pipes at Nandimarg Market and other places. Earlier, the Minister was informed that Liasu road is being constructed at a cost of Rs 4. 80 crore and will be dedicated to people very shortly. She was informed that the work on Ekleva Model School at Aharbal is in progress which is being constructed at a cost of Rs 14 crore. The construction work of Degree College Damhal coming up at a cost of Rs 9 crore is also in full swing and so far Rs 2 crore has been spent on the project. She was also told that under RMSA 7 School buildings are being constructed which will be completed within 2 months. She was also told that under SSA scheme 7 new Primary Schools will be opened shortly including 5 in Devsar zone and 2 in Damhal Hanjipora and in this connection the process is under execution. She was also told that 3 new Model Schools have been proposed at Boe, Begam and NPKP places under centrally sponsored schemes. On the occasion 20 PDP workers including publicity secretary of PDP Kulgam, Advocate, Syed Gowhar joined National Conference.District Development Commissioner, Kulgam, Mr. Jahangir Ahmed Mir,Executive Engineer, R&B, Chief Education Officer, Executive Engineer Power and other senior district officers were present on the occasion. Meanwhile the Minister asked DDC, Kulgam to direct ADC for conducting market checking of the main Markets of all the towns of the district including Damhal Hanjipora to keep the prices of essential commodities particularly, vegetables, meat, cheese, chicken etc. under control so that people are not put to in-convenience due to black marketing on the occasion of shab-i-Qadar and Id-ul-Fitr. Earlier, the Minister discussed many issues with the district officers to get feedback of the present status of various schemes presently under execution in Noorabad constituency. The Minister was told by the PHE engineers that a number of schemes have already been taken up in PHE subdivision Damhal Hanjipora which include WSS Voverkhul costing Rs 212. 15 lakhs, WSS Damhal costing Rs 264 lakhs, WSS Hakwas K B Pora costing of 194 lakhs and WSS Doba Tangmarg at a cost of Rs 125 lakhs. She was informed that work on various components is in progress and will be completed within 3 years. She was also told that 11 hand pumps have already been drilled which will be made functional shortly. Shealso directed to fulfill the public demand about installation new pipes at Malwan Dangarpora.
