Salon tip of the day: Question: Why is there a cold shot button on a hair dryer? Answer: There is a styling principal I like to call hot to to mold it, cold to set it. When using a round brush for instance you can use it to lock in curls or volume by heating up the section and then cooling it down with the cold shot button. If you are using a paddle brush to smooth and straighten you would want the last pass before switching sections to be done with the cold shot. This will also close the cuticle and improve shine.
