Sam Nkusi spent RWF 172 million buying back loyalty Liquid - TopicsExpress

Sam Nkusi spent RWF 172 million buying back loyalty Liquid Telecom Chairman Sam Nkusi yesterday handed a cheque of Rwf172m to the Rwandan Minister of Health Agnes Binagwaho toward Ebola prevention. Until recently, Mr. Nkusi Sam was regarded as a Kigarasha a common term for those discarded by Kagame and RPF. For those who don’t remember Sam, he was the darling of President Kagame, he was the synonymous with any work he was doing. He is the only man who could go to see President Kagame unsearched, the warm blood between Kagame and Sam was neither coincidental nor accidental but based on economic interests. Sam is an Engineer by Professional; during his honey moon with the Kagame he headed different Companies like Rwanda Telecom and Electrogaz. Sam is also the God father of one of the Kagame Children, unfortunately after falling with the Kagame family he cannot even be allowed to give a present on the birth day of his God Son. That’s the true nature and color of president Kagame. Apparently, Mr. Nkusi Sam is confused because of the relationship he has with what Kagame calls his enemies, for example his daughter is married to David Batenga a Nephew of late Col. Patrick Karegeya. Similarly his wife is a sister to Dr Theogene Rudasingwa one of the top leaders of the Rwanda National Congress. It is alleged that Mr.Nkusi cannot even call or talk to his daughter or his son in law Mr. David Batenga. He knows very well that Kagame does not tolerate hobnobbing with those who challenge his authority As I have mentioned above Sam was an insider of the Kagame establishment, no one could be trusted with lucrative palastatals without a direct hotline of president Kagame. Why then Sam fell apart with president Kagame? Falling apart with Kagame is not surprising because from the horses’ mouth he said that he does not have friends or colleagues. Kagame regards himself as superhuman who magically tells things to happen and they happen. Therefore according to him, he does not need colleagues or friends. The Liquid Telecom Company until recently was a Company Sam said was just a shareholder but it was discovered that the Company rather belongs to Sam. Where did he get all this money? Did he inform President Kagame? Is now Kagame a clandestine share holder? Because there is no business that can operate in Rwanda without the blessing of President Kagame. Did Sam inform or seek the blessing of President Kagame in order to donate to the so called Ministry of Health in Prevention of Ebola? Kagame is a man who does not tolerate people who have a lot of money without his knowledge. Without Kagame’s blessing, Sam risks going back to square one. When Sam was shelved in political bin of RPF, he had to re apply and seek forgiveness as is the tradition of RPF and Kagame to force and intimidate those who challenge his authority. Sam is not alone; there are many people who were regarded as the right hand of Kagame. And one of the sponsors of the RPF struggle during the Bush war that ended in 1994 with Genocide of the Tutsis and massacre of Hutus. This person is no one other than Mr. Tilbert Rujugiro whose property was confiscated by Kagame under his own law of Property Abandonment Act. Reliable sources from Kigali, and some friends of both Kagame and Rujugiro say that the fall out was more of economic than political. Kagame wanted many shares and direct control of Rugiro wealth. This partnership and economic marriage between Rugiro and Kagame did not go well and hence the divorce that ended Mr. Rugiro in exile and confiscation of all his property. Mr. Valence Kajeguhakwa another prominent business man and politician were forced to run into exile because of the similar reasons. Always Kagame wants to control and know the operation of business of prominent business men in the country. Mr. Kajeguhakwa was a man who owned a chain of business empires ranging from Ban inking, Petrol Stations and other business but Kagame frustrated him until all his property including the former BAKAR Bank was sold. However, Mr Kajeguhakwa might have returned after Kagame promised him to return his property, but whether he gets his property or not why should the head of state want to involve himself in every business in the country? The Kagame business empires from Schools, construction Company, Industries, name any business you will find Kagame there. The problem of involving the head of state in business is that those who work on his behalf abuse the legal system because they know; they are well backed by the President. The recent Economic Rankings by the World Bank Groupings ranked Rwanda 46 on making it easy of doing business. Economies are ranked on their ease of doing business, from 1–189. A high ease of doing business ranking means the regulatory environment is more conducive to the starting and operation of a local firm. The rankings are determined by sorting the aggregate distance to frontier scores on 10 topics, each consisting of several indicators, giving equal weight to each topic. The rankings for all economies are benchmarked to June 2014. Rwandans miscarriage of business is due to the President’s involvement in every sector of business making it difficult for free and fair competent in government aided projects. All big projects will be taken by the big companies owned by the Rwandan head of state or those which are affiliated to him. If Sam thinks that he will buy Kagame with Fwf172m, he is mistaken, there is more to be done to convince Kagame that Sam is not spending the money Kagame does not know the source. He might be recalled for more answers or be confined back to the RPF political dust bin or physically eliminated if Kagame perceives Sam a potential threat and unable to call him and his finances.
