Samantha Louise Wareham On the subject of whooping cough Im wondering if I need to be immunised. I feel for that poor baby in the last post but is having the vaccine several times a worse risk? I ask because I had the vaccine last October (due to work & travel reasons) which was 1 month before I became pregnant. Im due to have the vaccine at 28 weeks (currently 22) but as I had it in October do I really need to? I had the vaccine as a child (many many years ago) and then again 2 years ago (for work and travel reasons again). Im going to call my doctor/nurse as my midwife wasnt sure but I am sure they will say I should take the vaccine. I wonder if there is any adverse effect on baby having had the vaccine twice in recent years. Im likely to take the vaccine again as I want the best chance for my baby but at the same time worry about unknown effects of having repeated vaccines. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks. Sam.
