Samatha Jo Olson Samatha Jo Olson October 27, 1981 - August 14, 2013 Samantha Jo Cass Olson, beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother and friend, died Aug. 14, 2013 in her hometown, North Little Rock, at 31. Samantha was born Oct. 27, 1981 in Little Rock. She grew up in Pine Bluff and attended Pine Bluff High School and was a graduate of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Last November, she married Eric Olson, father to their 11-month-old daughter Linnea Gabrielle. An accountant who also held a part-time waitressing job, Samantha was known for her sweet disposition, tireless work ethic, and devotion to her husband, daughter and family. She had a passion for animal rescue. Samantha is preceded in death by grandparents Ray and Rita Doucet and Herbert Vernon and Bettie Jean Lyles, aunts Pat Green and Shirley Lyles, and great-grandfather and great-grandmoher Corea LaFosse. She is survived by husband Eric Olson, daughter Linnea Gabrielle Olson, father Stan Doucet, mother Phyllis Vontungelin, sister April Welshhons, brother Jeremy Welshhons and a large, loving extended family. A visitation will be held at the Roller Owens Funeral Home, 5509 John F. Kennedy Blvd., North Little Rock, Sunday, Aug. 18, 5-7 p.m. A celebration of Samantha’s life, officiated by Dr. Bob Harper, will be held Monday, Aug. 19, 10 a.m. at Park Hill Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Samantha Olson Memorial Fund at Arvest Bank.
