Same deal in both the US and Canada. Either we get out the vote and stop them in their tracks or they take over and change our country(ies) as we know them. Its up to the voters in each country to save their own democracy. And right now it is nip and tuck, so its time to get motivated. US citizens turn out in record numbers and vote in November, 2014 and again in 2016 (voting just in Presidential elections is only half of the job - you have to turn out in off year elections too or they will obstruct democratic reform - with their control of the House - through fiibustering)! Canadians, rid us of this cheap imitation George W. Bush wannabe in 2015! In each riding vote for the opposition party who (according to polls one week before the election) has the best chance of defeating a Conservative candidate. Its called strategic voting. All three opposition parties have some support for proportional representation. Make that and protection of the independence and legal authorities of the Federal Elections Canada Commissioner the two big issues in the next Canadian federal election in 2015!
