Samir Karnik , the well known film director, producer and screenwriter of Hindi did his directorial debut in 2004 with the movie “Kyun! Ho Gaya Na…” The movie was a Bollywood romance film starring Aishwarya Rai and Vivek Oberoi in the main lead. Later he came up with movies like “Heroes” and “Yamla Pagla Deewana” which were directed as well as produced by him. The movies did quite well at the box office and gathered him the desired appreciation. “Yamla Pagla Deewana” marked the second time that the Deol family had been cast together after their last sports hit, Apne in 2007. The film with the perfect dose of action, drama and comedy, combined with a fine story received mostly positive reviews from critics.
