Samridhi Roy, a Class X student diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia (AML) in January 2012 had four rounds of chemotherapy till June, barely attended classes but still wrote her ICSE exam this year. She scored 92.4 per cent. Her marks: English 90, Bengali 94, history/geography 90, mathematics 86, home science 94 and commerce 94. Hats off! But the talented student of Garden High School couldn’t celebrate her feat, or her 16th birthday last Saturday. Samridhi Roy is awaiting a bone marrow transplant in a Delhi hospital following a relapse of the blood cancer she is suffering from. Source: The Telegraph
