Samurah ibn Jundub reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Acts of begging are lacerations with which a man disfigures his face, so whoever wishes may preserve his dignity and whoever wishes may abandon it, but a man may ask from those in authority or if he cannot find another way.” Source: Sunan Abu Dawud 1639 Grade: Sahih (authentic) according to Al-Mundhiri عَنْ سَمُرَةَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ الْمَسَائِلُ كُدُوحٌ يَكْدَحُ بِهَا الرَّجُلُ وَجْهَهُ فَمَنْ شَاءَ أَبْقَى عَلَى وَجْهِهِ وَمَنْ شَاءَ تَرَكَ إِلَّا أَنْ يَسْأَلَ الرَّجُلُ ذَا سُلْطَانٍ أَوْ فِي أَمْرٍ لَا يَجِدُ مِنْهُ بُدًّا 1639 سنن أبي داود كِتَاب الزَّكَاةِ المسائل كدوح يكدح بها الرجل وجهه فمن شاء أبقى على وجهه ومن شاء ترك المحدث المنذري خلاصة حكم المحدث إسناده صحيح أو حسن أو ما قاربهما
