San Francisco isnt alone in experiencing population growth and resulting pressure on housing, transit, etc. While we are an extreme example, given our size and popularity, cities around the country and the world are growing, as the post-World-War-II wave of suburbanization and urban decline is reversed. Cities are now growing and thriving in terms of jobs, tax revenue, and so forth. The question - and challenge - is how to absorb that growth (which is coming whether or not we prepare for it) in a way that preserves what we love about San Francisco and that allows both existing and new residents to enjoy this amazing place. Housing and transportation are at the center of that question.
