Sandra Ganis … Thank you for responding to my article(s) on FB. Sorry I took so long to get back to you but I’ve been quite busy. I am reasonably well versed in non-profit law, and as I understand it, the Hesperia by-laws don’t satisfy the law. Without going into all of the detail, not physically providing copies to members is one case in point. Asking members to go to a web site likewise doesn’t. Further, the by-laws do not mention board member profits. I am nonetheless not the least concerned about incidental minor profits. I understand that the board just voted to have bi-annual certified audits, which, in my mind satisfies that problem if indeed there is one. Some seem to have thought that I was on some kind of witch hunt with my article which is not the case. It is my goal for the chamber, Hesperia, and the High Desert to flourish. Also, I welcome all comments and ideas to whatever I write, whether I agree with them or not.
