Sandy Smith has been turning her hand-built potters wheel for more - TopicsExpress

Sandy Smith has been turning her hand-built potters wheel for more than 40 years. Many of her #pottery pieces are carved free-hand, and slow-fired over a process that can take days. The results are absolute: beautiful, functional #art. “Making functional and semi-functional pottery is my passion, says the IWAF artist, it’s my best friend and I prefer doing that to almost anything else. I work in a variety of clays, decorative techniques and temperatures; doing this allows my imagination to move through many areas and keeps me in a constant state of discovery. “ Sandys intention and hope is that people will appreciate and enjoy the nature of hand-made ware and allow it to enhance their life in everyday ways. Meet Sandy and view her wonderful collection at the 2015 Indian Wells Arts Festival.
