Sangwenis New Bucs Deal Siyabonga Sangweni Signed A Two Year Contract With Pirates PSL Orlando Pirates Siyabonga Sangweni Siyabonga Sangweni has penned a two-year deal with Orlando Pirates, following the mystery surrounding his contract situation. Sangweni’s contract with Pirates expired at the end of the 2013/14 Absa Premiership campaign, which sparked speculation of a move away from Parktown, with Mamelodi Sundowns thought to have been interested in the player. Nsimbi went on to join the Bucs squad midway into pre-season and subsequently featured in the opening eight matches, sporting the captain’s armband and even managing to get on the score sheet in the MTN8 first leg semi-final win over Bidvest Wits. Partnering Rooi Mahamutsa at the heart of Bucs defence, the Bucs pair got off to a solid start, however, Mahamutsa failed to keep his consistency up for long, which the new partnership of Nsimbi and Ayanda Gcaba lead the Bucs team. A source confirmed that the player had indeed signed a new deal and indicated that it is effectively a three-year contract. “You see, in many cases it’s a two-year contract with a one-year option, but it just that it’s three years, because the team is the one with that option,” said the source. The Siya crew also learnt that the player’s agent Mike Makaab from Prosport International, had not yet met with any of Pirates’ club officials, despite the former Bafana Bafana defender signing a new contract with the club. Bucs’ administrative manager, Floyd Mbele, informed the Siya crew that he had not seen Sangweni’s new contract. #The_Cleaner#
