Sanil Kumar, who captured media attention in New Zealand while - TopicsExpress

Sanil Kumar, who captured media attention in New Zealand while being deported to Fiji has died in Fiji today. Mr Kumar was awaiting a kidney transplant in New Zealand and needed peritoneal dialysis was refused an extension of his stay in New Zealand. He was returned back to Fiji, despite an acute health condition and did not survive in Fiji and died. If only was he allowed an extension in New Zealand, he would have survived and a father would not have lost his young son and his whole family a family member. I know there are provisions within the immigration act which allows for special attention by Immigration New Zealand, and this is where someone who acted on his behalf should have done. Its no use crying over split milk now, but this situation should be a reminder for the future if we counter this. I feel for the family.New Zealand as a country should be sorry for this!!!
