Socializing and hospitality begins at 10 am so come early to chat with friends. We’ll meet in the garden or orchard (or if it’s raining, indoors for a panel discussion, demo and Q&A). WHAT: Does pruning a fruit tree seem like a complicated mystery? Are you intimidated or confused by the whole thing and just avoid pruning your trees? Join us for a hands-on workshop where experienced fruit tree pruners will give demonstrations of pruning different types of trees and give you a chance to try your hand at pruning under experienced guidance. You will learn simple, effective techniques for pruning trees that will take the mystery and fear out of the process. If you have them, please bring any hand clippers, loppers and pruning saws you have and join us for a morning of fun in the orchard. And if you don’t have these tools, don’t worry – come anyway! WHO: Our pruning demonstrators include Marshall Chrostowski, Ed Hachfeld, John Jamison, and Larry Saltzman, who will be joined by others. PLEASE BRING: Folding garden chair or stool, water, sunhat, sunscreen, umbrella, -- whatever you need to be comfortable. We also welcome fruit from your garden, baked good and plants or cuttings to share. ** And if you have them, please bring any hand clippers, loppers and pruning saws you have.
