Satan’s goal is to have the moral code masquerade as God so you think God is counseling you when in fact Satan is counseling you. How does the moral code get away with masquerading as God? It is very simple, really. The moral code uses the scriptures that speak about the ways of man and the ways of God. The scriptures are then applied to the way we feel. If I am feeling angry, I am to find the scriptures that speak of anger and learn from them. I am also to find the scriptures that speak of peace and learn from them. The moral code is busy pointing out to you how God wants you to behave and react and handle your feelings. The moral code uses scripture to borrow the voice of God. God does not want you to act like that. It is easy to fall into that trap when you allow the moral code to be the voice of God. But once you understand the Holy Spirit does not work to convict you of sin, He works as the living witness to confirm the righteousness of Christ, that changes everything. You are no longer expecting God to convict you of sin and so you will no longer expect God to be this voice to you. What this shift in mind set does is take away Satan’s voice.
