Saturday 2pm Dr. Sumer came in on his day off just to see our - TopicsExpress

Saturday 2pm Dr. Sumer came in on his day off just to see our sweet Klyn. Arthur updated him on our day yesterday. So yesterday was a total fail on trying to tube feed Klyn. She should have been feed 4 times and they struggled to get 2 feeding done all day. It took almost 4 hours to finally get her hooked back up to the pump feeding so she could get some sort of nutrients. This morning we attempted her bolus feeds again. Arthur & I will attempt to feed her ourselves. If we are successful then we will be discharged Sunday afternoon with the understanding that we are to stay in Dallas to have help with her feedings. Then we can go to Dr. Sumers office for her to be reevaluated Wed morning in hopes she can have the feeding tube removed. If she is not making progress then we will go home with the feeding tube and schedule for speech therapy in San Angelo. This is because Dr.Sumer will at conference and then on vacation until August and he really does not want Klyn on the feeding tube that long. He is so optimistic that she is going to bounce back and so are we! So we are asking for specific prayer request. That her throat will be restored. That she will gain strength and control of the muscles in her throat. That when she is reevaluated wed, she will no longer be aspirating and can have the tube removed. But above all for guidance for us and for Gods will to be done! This by far has been our longest Dallas stay. Thanks to our family and friends that have held the fort down in our absents. Thanks to our bosses for being so caring and understanding. Thanks to everyone that has shared her story, fb us, called, texted, prayed and showed us so much love and support! We would give anything to be home but this is where we need to be and our believing this WILL BE THE LAST TIME! God is good and sooooo faithful! Here is a quick pic of Klyn chatting with her BFF aka her little sister! They miss each other more than anyone really knows. Please share this with those that have been praying - baby steps in the right direction!
