Saturday, August 16 Jude 17-25 WAITING FOR THE LORD’S MERCY Keep yourselves in Gods love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life. Jude 21, KJV When Jesus was talking about the persistent widow in Luke 18, He concluded the last part of verse eight with a question: “However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?” How many of us are actually waiting eagerly for the appearance of our Lord? The challenge is: our attitudes do not show that we are waiting for His mercy. We still play with sins, taking His magnanimity for granted. In fact, we now call unrighteous acts mistakes. What God calls wickedness and sin, we call mistakes. We say God will understand because He knows we are not perfect. People with such spirit are not waiting for His mercy, but His judgment. So, as you wait, watch out for false teachers who follow their ungodly desires, people who divide the church of Christ and men of God who follow mere natural instincts. This calls for alertness in your spirit. Many people are already giving up in faith, living in the valley of doubt and fear. You need to continue in the love of the Lord, awaiting His appearance. Follow Jude’s advice: “You dear friends, build yourselves up in your most holy faith and pray in the Holy Spirit.” So, you will not miss His mercy. • Birthday Blessing: “Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the Lord.” Psalm 119:1 Read Bible Through Passage: Psalm 59-65; Romans 11:13-36 Living for the Lord today leaves a lasting legacy when we have gone. - Anonymous
