Saturday, August 3, 2013 While Fluffing my Pillows I was thinking about some of the wonderful people who went to Campbell High School in Fairburn, GA with me. We just had the most wonderful time in school, most days. We had some awesome teachers. My favorite was Mrs. AnnieSara Johnston (hope I spelled that correctly). She had the sweetest nature about her. Another teacher I remember well was Mrs. Milam. I remember that she was quite the eccentric one. (I would describe her personality as unusual sometimes but I loved her.) I read something that one of our classmates wrote and want to share it with you. It describes her so well. Sue McCullough Hilton: My grandmother used to tell a story on Mrs. Milam and made me swear on a bible that I wouldn’t repeat it at school. Apparently Mrs. Milam was quite the well dressed, fashionable young lady. Back in the twenties if you went to town you dressed to the nines; a proper suit or dress, best shoes, stockings, gloves and of course a hat. Mrs. Milam was going into Atlanta and took a shortcut across her back yard-under the clothes line, around the shrubs and down a path to the bus stop. When she got to town she kept noticing that people were staring at her, at first she thought it was because she looked especially good that day but then realized that something must be wrong. Finally she got to her destination and saw her reflection in the store window. No wonder people were staring; she had a pair of undies draped across the top of her hat. (Apparently she hadn’t ducked enough when she went under the clothes line.) I absolutely love this. I always acted eccentric, oh heck, I still do and I am proud of it. Hahaha. Thank you Sue McCullough Hilton for giving me another thing to think about today and smile about. Have a blessed Sunday everyone and enjoy your worship. Goodnight, sleep tight and don’t let the bedbugs bite. I love and adore all of you. Joycie The Lord is gracious and compassionate; slow to anger and rich in love. Psalm 145:8
