Saturday, January 25th was a very good day: The morning was spent in Rhea County with about 250 people celebrating the 90th birthday of Howard Taylor, the former Rhea Co. School Superintendent. It was an event filled with great stories (laughs and tears) of a man who spent 50 years teaching young people. We should all remember the important role an educator can play in a persons life. If you see a teacher today, tell them thanks. During he evening I had wonderful time in Franklin County at the annual wine tasting fund raiser sponsored by the Southern Tennessee Ladies Society. The Society is a great organization that annually awards financial college scholarships to several deserving high school seniors in a multiple county area.
