Saturday musings…As a young child, I was already a people-watcher, a thinker, and a philosopher/worrier. I still can overanalyze any topic to the point of ridiculousness. But today, as I contemplate the upcoming arrival of granddaughter SaraJo, I gently count my blessings. I am thankful for my son Brent, my daughter-in-law Jodie, my granddaughter Annabelle, and my daughter Caroline, who all bring joy to my life. I am grateful for my former students from over the many years—you make me laugh, you get me, and you make me feel appreciated. Thursday, I was blessed by a dinner of good food and deep love, accompanied by many laughs, with my HHS BBF Patti Pridgeon Jones Collins. Last night, I was blessed with a fun sleepover with two friends of my heart, one friend made at age 11—Sandy, Sandra Leigh Gunnels--and one made at age 62--Margaret Ashworth Cain, -- cards, laughs, tears, conversations. This week, I was blessed with many hours of quiet and loving and teasing moments with my husband…playing bridge together, reading beside one another, snuggling, talking, his comforting me at a low moment. I am not basking in a feeling of oh-how-grand-is-my-life. I am just content and grateful for what I do have. I miss deeply what I have lost. But, contentment and peace are good. Really good. May Gods blessings be on you all.
