Saturday’s 35-17 win over South Carolina cemented the legacy that the 34 seniors will leave behind, re-energized a restless fan base and caught the attention of some of the nation’s top recruits. The Clemson coaching staff hosted several of the 2015 commits as well as many 2016 uncommitted prospects Saturday afternoon and the win showed everyone in attendance that every player is willing to give it his all to get a win – even if it means playing with a torn ACL. Deshaun Watson did just that and caught the attention of every recruit in attendance, especially one four-star defensive end. “I was pumped about how our defense played,” Thomasville (GA) Thomas County defensive end and Clemson commit Austin Bryant told TigerNet Sunday afternoon. “They made some big time stops. I would follow Deshaun Watson into war any day as well!” Some recruits were able to see the game in person, while others watched from home but they all had something to say about the Tigers ‘dominating performance over the Gamecocks. *Sean Pollard – 2016 offensive lineman, Southern Pines (NC) Pinecrest “Well, the atmosphere is hard to explain. They’re extremely loud and don’t stop cheering and crazy. It’s just amazing. Clemson went out and balled out. They were hitting on all cylinders and went out there and stopped South Carolina. Then there’s the family atmosphere with the fans coming up to me and telling me to come to there and shaking my hand telling me how great the school is.” Tanner Muse – 2015 safety commit, Belmont (NC) South Point “It was a great game and was a complete game on both ends of the ball. It was great getting the trophy back home.” Robbie Robinson – 2016 cornerback, Hampton (VA) Phoebus “Clemson played a great game. I was proud of them. The atmosphere was second to none – electric, passionate and loud from start to finish.” Chad Smith – 2015 linebacker commit, Sterling (VA) Dominion “The game was awesome. I loved it. I got so hyped watching the game at home I wish I couldve been down there. But I know I’ve got 4 years to help start keeping this streak against USC alive and I cant wait.” Tucker Israel – 2015 quarterback commit, Orlando (FL) Lake Nona “Awesome, great atmosphere and experience.” Mecole Hardman – 2016 athlete, Elbert (GA) Elberton County “Thought they played great. Its a great win for them! Shows that they are a lot better with Deshaun Watson.” ( TUCKER ISRAEL OH LORDY)
