Johns Friday Report: they came down more on the oxygen support and hes tolerated that, is more awake and responsive to us, and they had trouble drawing cultures from his lungs because there isnt much yuck in there now. :) Fluid output still good; they even slowed it down some so he wont go the opposite way and dry out -- so many balancing acts! He did develop fever -- 102.4 at one point today, but its been below 100 since at least 4:00. Sarah Morton LaPlaca and Jeff Simcox just left (11 Pm) and the last reading was 99.8. ICU jumped right on it today by drawing blood and cultures and well have preliminary reports tomorrow so theyll know if they need to change or add an antibiotic, plus theyre going to change his lines and tubes tomorrow.
