Saturday’s annual Riverfest Rock-N-Stroll 5k Fun Run, chaired by Katie McManners, attracted 427 registrations and 339 participants. The race began and ended at Heifer International. Official race results are available here: arkansasrunner/race_results.htm See photos here: https://flickr/photos/98016163@N07/sets/72157644423592338 In this rock-n-roll-themed race, costumes are encouraged and rewarded. A very young lady, who ran the entire race in a tutu, narrowly beat out “The Village People” for best costume by popular vote. Three live bands provided entertainment and motivation along the race route and race participants voted on their favorite. The winning band, Dead End Drive, was rewarded with the chance to play for Riverfest attendees on the amphitheater stage later that morning. All participants were entered into a drawing to win an Ibanez electric guitar signed by all members of the band, Chicago, who played Riverfest on Friday night. Judy Best of Little Rock was the lucky winner of that prize. Thanks to Go! Running for their sponsorship and to Gwatney Buick GMC for the use of their inflatable “Gwatzilla” at the starting line. All Rock-N-Stroll race registrants also received a Riverfest weekend pass as part of their registration.
