“Saul Eslake from the Bank of America Merrill Lynch says the Government has not managed to prove that there is a budget crisis, or that the solution is to make large cuts in expenditure.” (ABC News) In other words, there is no budgetary crisis and Tony Abbott is falsely claiming that there is one in order to implement deflationary policies that not merely impact primarily on the poorer members of the community but that are likely to lead to a budgetary crisis.
