Save the Children’s assessments are drawing to a close in both - TopicsExpress

Save the Children’s assessments are drawing to a close in both Srinagar and Jammu regions. Our teams on the ground have covered the worst-affected areas in Jammu and Kashmir floods and have interacted extensively with the children and communities. While there is a continued requirement of emergency relief material, the long-terms needs go much beyond that. The floods have made everyday life extremely difficult and some progressive needs have identified as follows : 1. Restoring of healthcare services 2. Livelihood support 3. Agricultural Restoration 4. Building a protective environment for Children through Child Friendly Spaces 5. Setting up of Temporary Learning Centres and gradually restarting education 6. Restoration of damaged water sources 7. Heating arrangements as winter is approaching fast Save the Children will be staying put in J&K for a long time and will be rolling out a number of rehabilitation measures. We seek your support in rebuilding a state which has been devastated by floods. Donate generously at: bit.ly/jkfloodsrelief
