Saw a recipe for garlic mushrooms that reminds me of my recipe. These are A-MAZING. 1. Clean one pound mushrooms by wiping with paper towel. Dont rinse them, as they will absorb water. This is the most annoying part of the recipe. 2. Remove stems, trim them, then mince the stems and mix with 3 minced green onions and brown in 1 T melted butter. Add to 3 oz cream cheese, 3 T dry bread crumbs, and a little salt and pepper. 3. Fill mushroom caps with cream cheese mixture. 4. Melt rest of stick of butter in the oven at 350 in a 13x9 pan. 5. Add garlic to the butter, either garlic powder or fresh garlic. Add 1-2 cloves worth. 6. Add mushrooms, cap down. Brown for 5 minutes in 350 oven. 7. Pour in red wine until it comes to halfway up the caps, about a cup or two of red wine. 8. Continue baking at 350 until mushrooms are dark and filling is browned, about 45 minutes. 9. Watch grown men weep and beg for more. CAVEAT: The proportions are not exact. Wouldnt hurt to have extra of everything on hand as a backup.
