A LIGHT IN THE DARKNESS: A STORY OF HOPE DURING THE HOLOCAUST The all high school cast of A Light in the Darkness: A Story of Hope During the Holocaust. About Eva Schloss, Auschwitz survivor and author, who spoke after the performance. The play is based on her book The Promise, which chronicles her experiences during those terrible times. This year is the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz, and Eva, who was also Anne Franks step-sister, is one of few remaining survivors in the UK. There was a performances for MS and HS students during the school day and she spoke to them about reducing hate and increasing hope..
