Saw this on reddit in respect to the X-Men Arcade game. First arcade game I ever beat. My cousin and I went to the mall when we were both 8. Mom would drop us off at the arcade when she was tired of us with $5 bucks each. We get our tokens and head straight for X-MEN. Weve never even been close to beating it before. A few continues into it two teenage dudes walk up to us and start watching us play. After a minute one of them asks Can we jump in? and then jumps in without waiting for a response. With four players on the board we start kicking ASS. Pretty quickly my cousin and I get farther than weve ever been in the game... and were dying quickly and running out of quarters. Were pretty far into the game now. My cousin dies and just stands there. One of the teenagers yells Dude, what are you doing?!?, to which my cousin replies with Im out of quarters. The teen makes a WTF face, reaches into his hoodie pocket, pulls out a handful of tokens and dumps them on the center console. After that we just tore through the game. If I remember correctly we only died a few more times. When we beat it we all started cheering and high-fiving and all that shit. Not one of us had ever been close to beating it. The older guys bought us pizza afterwards. We talked about the game and comic books we read. One of my favorite childhood memories. LOL Gaming is just a waste of time!
