Say Hello to your new baby......... Take the time every day to talk to your baby (this can start whilst you are pregnant so that he/she is familiar with the sound of your voice and those close to you) From the moment they are born, if content and alert, newborns will seek out faces and stare at them - they can even copy simple things like sticking their tongue out - you just need to be patient. They already know your voice and will turn when you are talking and be more readily soothed by the sound of your voice. The secret here is to keep talking to them because they are intently listening - if you speak two languages they are already learning the different sounds! You may be amazed to know that: Babies are born with a wide range of emotions and that using their facial muscles will enable full blown smiles, often sooner than you thought possible. They will also quickly start to have a conversation with you - to begin with this is just silent mouth movements but she will pause as if she is chatting and in a week or two she will begin to reward you with cooing and gurgling.
