Saying: God is everywhere is NOT permissible. This statement has become widespread these days, and people need to be aware of it. This statement was not originated by the Muslims. Rather by a deviant group in the past called the Mu^tazliah. When they used this statement they meant that God is physically everywhere. And this is against the religion and is blasphemy. Those who use this statement nowadays usually intend by it to mean: God has knowledge over everything. And this is a valid meaning. However, as mentioned, this statement was initiated with a wrong meaning intended and should not be used, even with a good valid meaning, because some people, upon hearing it, may misunderstand the intended meaning and may end up believing that God is physically everywhere. So beware of using such a statement.
