Scannews Stop insulting President Jonathan, Ijaw leaders tell APC, Northern elite LEADERS of the Ijaw in Warri, Delta State, have warned the All Progressives Congress, APC and Northern elite to put an end to their unguarded attacks and incessant insults on the person of President Goodluck Jonathan. Speaking through Mr. Adanse Felix, a Niger Delta activist and former Labour Party, LP, candidate for Delta State House of Assembly, Warri North Constituency, in the 2011 general elections, the Ilaw leaders, argued that the personal attacks on President Jonathan at the slightest opportunity, especially by the APC, were barbaric, and would never sell the party. The Ijaw leaders, in a statement, said: “We appeal to the leadership of the opposition parties, especially APC, and some northern elites in the country, to guard their utterances. The incessant and unabated insults on the person of the president should stop forthwith. President Jonathan is not an Ijaw president, but the president and Commander- in-Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and as such he should be respected. “The people of the Niger Delta will not condone any more insults from politicians, who never see anything good in Mr. President.”
