Schenck v. United States. The Supreme Court ruled unanimously that the First Amendment, though it protects freedom of expression, does not protect dangerous speech. I feel this applies in 2014. The Drudgereport headline today EBOLA: DISASTER OF OUR GENERATION...Huh? Since when is one dead in the US and less than 5,000 dead in West Africa in the last eight months from Ebola a disaster, let alone the disaster of our generation? In comparison, a real pandemic - the 1918 FLU. ~680,000 Americans died in less than six months (most of them young, healthy individuals 20-40 years old). In less than two years, up to 100,000,000 (100 MILLION) died worldwide from the disease. Black Death (Bubonic plague) in the 14th century reduced the world population by 1/3. Once you use the term DISASTER OF OUR GENERATION - you cannot go any further when the real one comes...It is crying wolf to the nth degree. Drudge/Fox/CNN crying wolf for the sake of advertising $ is terribly irresponsible and it should be illegal.
