Scholarship Announcement: COLLEGE BOUND VALLEJO College Bound Vallejo is a project selected by the residents of Vallejo through Participatory Budgeting. It will provide 75 students with scholarships of up to $4,000 over 2 years ($2,000 each year). College Bound Vallejo provides students with financial support to pursue higher education and reach their academic and career goals. As part of the criteria to receive scholarship funds, each recipient will perform 150 hours of community service in Vallejo. The service requirement provides a public benefit and aims to foster a desire to improve Vallejo and a sense of duty to improve ones community. Eligibility Criteria: Be a resident of Vallejo. Will receive a high school diploma, a certificate of completion or a GED by August 2014. Be accepted to a 2 year or 4 year WASC certified college located within a 75 mile radius of Vallejo. Commit to fulfill community service requirement of 150 hours within the City of Vallejo. Applications must be submitted online or postmarked by May 1, 2014.
