School Anyone?: Dear Band Family, I hope everyone has stayed safe and warm through the weather of the past week or so! I wanted to give everyone a “heads up” on the week ahead so we are prepared for the busy schedule. Please note the calendar: Monday 1/27 Listening Assignment #3 is DUE for ALL jazz students (from last Fri. 1/24) Finish Chair Tests in Concert Band Wind Ensemble Brass/Percussion Sectional 4-6 PM Booster Meeting 7:00 PM in band room (ALL are invited to attend. PARENT HELP IS NEEDED!) Tuesday 1/28 All District Jazz Auditions @ Lafayette HS (times sent via email last week) Wednesday 1/29 Steel Band Rehearsal 3:45 PM FCPS Middle School Honor Band make-up Audition at EJ Hayes MS (25 to 30 student volunteers needed…meet in Hayes band room at 5:00and will receive dinner) Friday 1/31 Jazz Listening Assignment #4 is DUE Dates in upcoming weeks KMEA conference and All-State Band is Wed. 2/5- Sat. 2/8 Auditions for placement in HC Bands next year will begin in band classes on Monday Feb. 10 (students will perform the technical All District etude) Just a note about the cancelled All District Band weekend, the coordinator is trying diligently to reschedule the event.
