School Weekly Report Primary Class Sept. 9 -13, 2013 This week we spoke about the seasons. We spoke about autumn, winter, spring and summer. Everyone had a turn to contribute. We will focus on autumn in the coming weeks. During Montessori time we had a chance to play with the African animals and explore the continent on our map. We are learning the continent song and have pointed to land and water on our globe. We made Lion masks this week and spoke about what we would do if we were lions while coloring our crafts. We made our lions nice and colorful since it was a project that had lots of imagination. The lower primary children continue to practice pattern skills and have worked on how to hold the pencil and follow the lines. We have also started to practice numbers and quantity symbol recognition. We are learning about the rules of the primary classroom and also about hygiene in the classroom Upper primary children have enjoyed making various objects using the small Duplo blocks this week. The have very creative ideas and are very talented constructors. We would like to send home reading books so please try to practice the phonetic sounds at home on your I-pad, computer or using flash cards. We are planning a TRIP TO PUMPKIN FARM Farm at Bykoš on Friday, Sept. 27th. The farm is located 30 km from Prague. We will travel by private bus leaving the school at 9.00 am and returning for lunch. The cost will be 300 Kc per child. This includes transportation, a snack, journey through corn maze and a small pumpkin to bring home. Please pay 300 Kc to Jana by Sept.27th. We are happy to announce that NUTRITIONIST Kelly Fraser will be here on Wednesday, September 25th at 2.30 pm. The workshop is for all parents who want to know how to encourage positive eating habits in their children. Please sign up on the School Board if you wish to attend this workshop. Please help us by signing up to bring in SNACK. Each child will have 1 turn during the whole school year to bring in morning snack. If you do not have time to shop please give the money (1 300 Kc) to Jana and we will order it at Tesco on-line. NOTE: Please can you send in a hand sterilizer gel clearly labeled. We would like to have some in the class for each child to use during the season when we have lots of colds and coughs in the air. Please also remember to stay home if your child has a green running nose. The school is not allowed to administer any kind of antibiotics to your child while in school.
