Application Engineer - Automation Responsibilities: Assist sales representatives and strategic customers in applying SEL integration and application products through telephone contact, visits, trade show demonstrations and application literature. Train and assist customers with the installation, commissioning and operation of automation systems, both on-site and from SEL offices. Develop and maintain a high level of technical expertise in electric power system automation and a working level of technical expertise in electric power system protection. Assist in the preparation and presentation of quote proposals for SEL equipment, services and systems to customers. Perform special studies and tests as needed by customers. Participate in SEL sales and marketing activities and industry technical meetings and conferences. Provide support for other SEL marketing, sales, application engineering and development activities to customers Follow and improve Application Engineering area processes. Qualifications: B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification Over 3 years working knowledge of SCADA practices and philosophies, communication architectures Excellent technical training, speaking and writing skills Working knowledge of SCADA practices and philosophies at utilities, industrials or engineering firms Knowledgeable in communications protocol applications such as DNP 3.0, Modbus, Ethernet IP, IEC 61850 an added advantage Willing to travel 40% regionally Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities Ability to work cooperatively in team environment To Apply For This Position:We ask all candidates to submit their resume through our website at selinc/applynow.
