Scots & proud WARNING TO TOURISTS TO AVOID WILD HAGGIS - TopicsExpress

Scots & proud WARNING TO TOURISTS TO AVOID WILD HAGGIS DURING BIRTHING SEASON I shared this rare photo of a Scottish Grey(Wild Haggis) Female and her brood That were spotted early in the birthing season in the hills of Galloway a few months ago ! The Grey is a fairly common Haggis, and the lesser spotted red and the Galloway belted Haggi are much harder to find ! But as it is the Anniversary of Burns death today, some folk try to go spotting Burns favourite, So I was asked by the SSPWHH ( Scottish Society of Protection of Wild Harry Haggii). To warn tourists and locals alike that during the birthing season, the Mothers are very protective of the young and are best avoided., Many of the Haggi are on their second brood this season, as the weather has been so good! Plus during the summer months the Haggis hunting season is closed, and does not open again until the Glorious 12th of January. But with the breeding season being so successful this year, the hunting quotas will be filled very quickly indeed! So consider yourselves as warned folks, if you spot a Haggis sunning itself with its brood near by. AVOID at all Costs!
