Scott and I just finished watching the documentary, Case Against 8 about the court proceedings around CA Proposition 8. I met a lovely couple several days ago at a friends funeral, and during the lunch afterwards, the subject of gay marriage and this powerful film came up in the conversation. Both Judy and Phil emphasized how much this film affected them, and how moved they were by listening to the plaintiffs personal stories and testimony. I thought it would be interesting, but I was not prepared for how emotional it would be to watch....even knowing already the final outcome. It was absolutely fascinating to watch as the strategies unfolded and I found myself being drawn back to when we were in DC while the cases were being presented, and how emotionally charged that day was for our entire family. If you get a chance, experience this wonderful film. thecaseagainst8
